Disappearing Grocery Stores...

Disappearing Grocery Stores...
Here's an article about how health declines when accessible grocery stores disappear.

Your support of our shop enhances our community health. We thank you, and so do the local producers connected to our neighborhood grocery.

Green Initiative and Books, Glorious Books!
We "heart" Staunton Green 2020! This new group wants to reduce our energy footprint and develop a city task force to bring more green jobs to Staunton. We think they're being bold, and we love it. Get involved!

Wondering about our Green Commitment? Read it here.

Other good neighborhood news: Pufferbellies recently raised funds and donated 250 books to local school children. What a great idea. We catered the event, and proud to be a part of it. We love books!

You're Invited.
Join us at Mary Baldwin College this Thursday, 2/12, when we participate on a panel concerning "triple bottom line" businesses — those that aim to be environmentally sound, economically productive, and socially equitable. (Psst! We're catering the event, too. Free food!) Join us at 7pm in Spencer Hall.

Fancy Grocery: Dublin Coddle, or, WWJJD?
What Would James Joyce Do? The famous Irish writer might have enjoyed a hot bowl of Dublin Coddle, our "fancy grocery to go". This dish was one of his favorites. You can enjoy it while supplies last starting Monday, 2/9.

Dublin Coddle is a warm winter dish of pork sausage, bacon, potatoes and onion. We can't say it will spark your inner literary genius. But then again, who knows?
